Dua is the heart of Umrah. While specific wordings are recommended at certain points, sincere supplication in any language is accepted. Here are the moments to focus on.
The Talbiyah
After entering Ihram, recite the Talbiyah frequently: Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayk la sharika laka labbayk… Men say it aloud; women quietly.
When you see the Kaaba
The first sight of the Kaaba is a powerful moment when dua is readily accepted. Raise your hands and ask for whatever you wish, for yourself and others.
During Tawaf
There is no fixed dua for each circuit — you may recite Quran, remember Allah, or make personal supplication. Between the Yemeni Corner and the Black Stone, many recite: Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah…
During Sa’i
At Safa and Marwah, face the Kaaba, praise Allah, and make dua. There is again no compulsory wording, so ask sincerely throughout.
